Charles V and the Spanish language.

Question

Charles V, Holy Roman emperor during the 16th century (and King of Spain under the title Charles I), is attributed with saying, "I speak Spanish to God, Italian to women, French to men and German to my horse." How witty. I also believe this to be true. Please correct my attempt in Spanish to add a few supportive statements:

San Juan de la Cruz y Santa Teresa de Avila fueron los místicos más profundos y espirituales da la fe católica. Vivieron en el siglo dieciséis en España durante el reino del Rey Charles I y escribieron libros sobre los diferentes niveles de consciencia espiritual.

St. John of the Cross y Ste. Teresea of Avila were the most profound and spiritual mystics of the Catholic Faith. They lived in 16th century Spain during the reign of King Charles I and wrote books about the different levels of spiritual consciousness.

line 1: más takes the accent line 3: sobre los diferentes niveles de .... the adj reads better before the noun
