I recently got some cookies from a friend and asked for a translation, my answer was I had used : Inappropriate language. I copied the text directly from the wrapper of the cookies (the cookies are from Puerto Rico) and I am now extremely confused!! I don't feel that I can re post the text as I don't know what is wrong with it.

Hello gaw. Language is a funny old thing isn't it?! The problem is that, when you try to translate a regional dialect into another one, sometimes the meaning can be quite different. I remember before I could speak French properly, I went into a shop and asked for a jar of jam with no preservatives in it. The whole shop fell about laughing, until I realised that 'Preservative' in French is...a condom!! So maybe in Puerto Rico the BRAND name of the cookie is quite innocent, but else where it is rude. I've seen it a few times in Scandinavian countries, where the name of a particular food product translated into Enlish as...sh*t! It's probably best to stick to cookies being, "Las galletas". Yes, seeing "Bimbo" brand bread still makes me giggle. Bimbo is originally a company from Mexico.
