Previously:

antes, anteriormente, previamente

  • ¡Usa tus propias palabras!

After years of study, scientists discovered a previously unknown gene.

I preferred the previous web site, before all the changes.

Corregid mi español ,por favor. Should I use red instead of web? - pintor, Feb 18, 2012
Hola pintar. I would use "el sitio de web" per the SD dictionary and not "el red -- network" because even though the old website was on the network, or the internet, you specifically are referring to the old version (website) of Spanishdict.com. - bandit51jd, Feb 18, 2012
I will wait to see how others view this. - bandit51jd, Feb 18, 2012
Gracias Bandit. - pintor, Feb 18, 2012
Hola Pintor.
Gracias Cordobesa - pintor, Feb 19, 2012

Nice! Add "los" in front of "Estados Unidos" and you should be perfect! - Paralee, Feb 19, 2012
Thanks Paralee. I appreciate your help. - rac1, Feb 19, 2012
I've just wondering if ¨hacerse¨won´t be more appropriate in this case, instead of ¨convertirse¨ - Silvia_Tcherneva, Feb 27, 2012

Good sentence, Bandit. You don't need the "A" in front of George though. And "fue" would be better than "era" since the dates he was president are pretty specific. - Paralee, Feb 19, 2012
Muchas gracias, Paralee! - bandit51jd, Feb 19, 2012

Previously people lived without stress but they were dying from diseases that are curable today, modern life is not 100% better but I think that is a little bit better than the past.

'...I think that it's a little bit better...' ;) apart from that it's 'a little bit' faster :D - racoonka, Feb 19, 2012
Nicely done. In addition to the above - "...stress, but they were dying 'from diseases' that are curable today. Modern... - katydew, Feb 19, 2012
Thanks for the corrections racoonka and katydew. - xtiagox, Feb 19, 2012

Previously in 'Never Leave Me': Ana is in love with Diego, while Diego sleeps with her mother, but the mother only does it to get closer to Diego's brother...

PS: made up wink

Take away the "el" before the title in Spanish. And change "her" to "his" in English. - Paralee, Feb 19, 2012
Thank u Paralee!.. 'previamente en 'Nunca me dejes'... y in English I meant D sleeps with Ana's mother, does it sound odd (grammatically)? - racoonka, Feb 19, 2012
To mathslover- it always is in those dramas.. :D - racoonka, Feb 19, 2012

So you must be English? "maths" is a give-away.... ;o) - katydew, Feb 19, 2012
"estoy jubilada...era maestra" - ah, the joys of ser vs. estar. Also, is "maths" correct in UK English? - Paralee, Feb 19, 2012
I used 'ser' forms because I recently learned in my class that 'ser' is used for occupations, 'soy dentista' etc. Now I am confused again. - jennysk, Feb 19, 2012
Katydew, I am not English, but Australian, and we use a more British English, though younger people are more US influenced. The subject is mathematics, shortened to maths. - jennysk, Feb 19, 2012
Paralee, I think I get it now - era is a form of ser , for the occupation, but imperfect of course because 'I used to be'. And estoy because being 'jubilada' is not a job? - jennysk, Feb 20, 2012
