Hola, Paralee sometimes says what sounds like "bali" or "vali"(I must be spelling it wrong because I can't find a translation) at the start of a sentence, if anyone can tell me what it means I would be very grateful, Gracias, Dave

Yes, the sound at least in Spain, is the "v" coming to the ear as a "b". Some South American friends tend to respect the "v" a little more in my experience but "Vale, vale vale!!! sounding bahleh baahleyh grin can be heard in every bar from Cadiz to Barcelona grin

Or it it's not Vale - its Venga! - caza, Feb 17, 2012
I was utterly confused when my Spanish teacher said 'vale', pronouncing it like 'bahleh', because 'balek' means to retreat or move backwards in my country! - mathslover, Feb 17, 2012
