ishangodbole: Poder is more accurately translated as "to be able to." The word "can" is one of a strange group of English verbs called modal verbs. They're used as auxiliary verbs and they have no infinitives. So, the future tenses of poder would actually translate to:

I will be able to

You will be able to

He/she will be able to

Etc.

I'm not sure if that's what you're asking. I hope it helps.

I cosign with babs.

With that said:

Puedo >> I am able to _ _ _ (or, I can _ _ _ )

Podré >> I will be able to _ _ _

Podría >> I would be able to _ _ _ (or, I could _ _ _ )

I hope this helps.

Hmmm, ishangodbole, I 'm curious: Why do you say these are "already" future tense?

The future tense of verb "poder" is: podré, podrás, podrá, podremos, podréis, podrán.
