Spanish "d" between vowels

Sometimes in Spanish words when the d is between 2 vowels, it has the English sound "d" and other times it has the sound "th". Have I got this wrong? Any general pronunciation rules to follow regarding this?

I hope it helps. Spanish pronunciation may seem confusing, but in most cases it is very logical.
At least they don't have five different vowel sounds for "a"

Haha, totally agree. Pronunciation in English, specially vowel sounds, is hell. Spanish one is very basic and logical. - JuanPabloW, Feb 21, 2012
