Information on the Palabra del Día thread
Hola a todos,
Regretfully, I am going to stop posting the Palabra del Día, starting today.
I have discussed this with my corrector, DrVicente, and he feels the same, and he is also leaving the site and the correcting job.
When I came to Spanishdict, I couldn't speak a word of Spanish. Now, I can carry a conversation with any native really, and this is due in small part to Spanishdict, but in Great part to Heidi's learning threads, and her help.
I have made a lot of great friends through Spanishdict, and most of them I talk to on Skype regularly. I hope that the ones that I haven't talked to join me on Skype soon, so we can talk, have fun, practice our Spanish, whatever.
That is to say, I encourage everyone to meet us on Skype - it really is a lot of fun, and great practice!
I have really enjoyed all of your great answers on the Palabra del Día, and thanks for all of your participation in that thread.

It has truly been an honor working with you, Chris and it has definitely been a great experience correcting this thread. All the participants have been amazing and I thank you, all for sharing your time and experience with me. I consider the vast majority of you dear friends and I hope that our paths will cross once again in the near future because I enjoy learning from you as I hope you enjoyed learning what bit of knowledge that I had to offer you.

My favorite thread was "La palabra del Día". I really learned a lot from it and always I tried not to miss any word as possible. Always I like the word Chris choose in the thread and the way vicente used to correct me. By the way, I have an excel sheet as my Spanish database in which I add every thing I can learn from my Spanish lessons as well as SD (verbs conjugations, uses and examples; volcabulary; group of things; references, expressions, ..etc) and since I joined SD I added another sheet named Q&A in which I insert the original sentence I post on the "La palabra del Día" thread as well as the corrected sentence according to drvicente comments as well as others. (for my future reference)
Really I'll miss you all and thanks for everything. There is a proverb in Arabic (my mother language), I'll try to translate it into both English and Spanish:
The person who teach me one word, I'll be his servant.
La persona que me enseñe una palabra, voy a ser su siervo.
Thank you for finding time to post every single day, read our posts and correct them. I learnt a lot from you, both English and Spanish. I'll miss you.

Vicente - I don't think our paths ever crossed but your reputation is second to none, another person who only gives, asking for nothing in return. You have my heartfelt admiration.

To the staff --- is there no a way to settle these grievances? One week ago this was the best language learning site in the world. It seems like an opportunity lost if you can't bend enough to make the moderators and users feel like they share in the success story and to provide due recognition.
To the veterans --- it seems that there are enough of you leaving that you can create an entirely new site, where games, a sense of a support community, and a mix of fluent English and Spanish speakers support each other. Please come and get me when there is a new place where I can find all of you again.
To those that remain --- I will be here, small consolation though it is.

DrVicente, Muchisimas gracias por dar su ayuda y sus opiniónes sobre mis escritos y anuncios en español aquí, particularmente in El Palabra del Día. En mi breve tiempo aquí, he aprendido mucho. How can I leave without saying thanks to Chris and Vicente. Chris, no problem there, we have Skype but Vicente, you have been such a great help to me I do hope you get connected on Skype also and send me your contact info. My account will remain open an so will my PM box.

Chris, and DrVicente, I offer once again my deepest appreciation for all the help and experience I received by your gracious efforts.
All things come to an end. I just wish this episode had not come to its end for these disgraceful reasons. However, if mutual suffering strengthens the bonds we had so far assumed, we now know for certain how much has been lost.
Words fail me now.
