Admin Decisions Are Not Publicly Discussed

I know that it's frustrating and easy to jump to conclusions when you are left in the dark as to Management discussions and decisions, but please remember that some things must be kept private until all the information is in and final decisions are made.

It's unfortunate that someone said "Oh, Heidi is leaving!!" before anything at all had been decided. It seems that someone wanted to start a whole protest campaign even before any action was taken. That was clearly inappropriate.

I can assure you that Management and the Moderators will announce any new changes in the near future. Please be patient.

--Mariana--

P.s.

Please remember that it was Heidi who has deleted dozens of threads relating to Moderator decisions and she always quoted "Moderator decisions are not discussed on the open forum." So, even she would have to agree that these discussions should be deleted.

Mariana, can I ask why you are closing the threads and posts that disagree with your point of view?

Mariana , by closing these threads the administration have highlighted a problem

within a problem , and have now exacerbated an already unhappy situation .

The more serious contributors to SD don't want to discuss admin matters - but nor we appreciate being ingnored Mariana.

As I see it, one of the root causes of this unrest is that the moderators were not being informed by SD owners in a complete and timely way.

It only spreads the epidemic of silence for admins to treat normal members in the same way.

I think you may have a valid point, Pesta:) - FELIZ77, Feb 13, 2012
It **is** a valid point! Just as surely as the sun rises, there are human reactions which can be predicted. Not a good idea to ignore Mother Nature. - territurtle, Feb 13, 2012

Mariana I appreciate your position but !

I can assure you that Management and the Moderators will announce any new changes in the near future. Please be patient.

The problem with that statement is, "that is not what happened last Saturday "!

Ray the management not the moderrators were at fault for keeping us all in the dark about the prposed changes! The moderators WILL inform us all I have confidence that they will not follow the same appraoch as the management! - FELIZ77, Feb 13, 2012

Hi, Cogumela:

Please know that It's not my point of view, but rather, the SD forum rules that I am enforcing. All moderators, including Heidi, are required to close threads that deal with these private Admin/Moderator issues.

As I said, I understand the SD community's sentiments and frustration, but certain things must follow a protocol or there will be no order.

Please feel free to send me a PM if you have further questions. smile

Mariana, your not a mod anymore, so relax! grin

the threads were opened and the current admins saw them, l believe if they didn't want them to be discussed in order to know our opinions they would have closed them.

I guess you mean that only SD "insiders" will moderate now - that is what I understood as well. - ian-hill, Feb 13, 2012

Hello Marianne my friend

I am really sorry that I have jumped the gun and responded prematurely to some of the other posts that had suggested to me that Heidi was leaving before any official statement had been made by the moderators. It was of course not helped by the situation that some of the threads had been closed eg: the pronounciation thread that Heidi had opened up and that she and Cogu were/had been correcting.

I had sent a message to Heidi in Skype politely requesting correction to a post on the same thread but seem so far not to have received any response. The next thing I knew the whole thread had been closed. I had been to church on sunday morning then spent most of the rest of the day with my parents and to church in the evening only to discover when I returned that talk of Heidi leaving was abounding in different threads I was obviously not the only one to jump to conclusions!

I for one would be more than happy, Yes.... ecstatic to learn that this was not going to be the case! We would not want to lose any of you wonderful moderators. I say this most sincerely not merely from any desire to butter you up!

We await your decision with patience trepidation and some hope that matters can be resolved amicably to bring about a more favourable outcome grin

Feliz - Real comment - no one has to wait for SD admin to announce that a member is leaving. - ian-hill, Feb 13, 2012
Ian, I am being real and trust that the moderators will be honest with us and not make the terrible mistake of treating us with the same disrespect that it has appeared the management treated them! - FELIZ77, Feb 13, 2012
I agree - ian-hill, Feb 13, 2012

I don't wish to be rude and I certainly hope you don't take it this way, but simply posting something the forum is not a way to stop this problem. It was an ADMIN who started one of the major threads discussing this.

I'm not trying to speak for everyone and I myself don't completely agree with this mindset, but I think the other problem is that many people don't really trust the staff to tell us straightoff what is happening because they feel that the staff already haven't been doing a good job communicating with us or listening to us.

P.s.

Please remember that it was Heidi who has deleted dozens of threads relating to Moderator decisions and she always quoted "Moderator decisions are not discussed on the open forum." So, even she would have to agree that these discussions should be deleted.

Last but definitely not least, Heidita herself has been commenting on some of these threads and hasn't (as far as I have seen) felt the need to corrent anyones information or tell them to stop the thread.

I am not advocating breaking rules here, but I'm not sure if I completely agree with this and even if I did, there's a bigger problem here.

Plain and simple... this site has always been a favorite and an addiction of mine. However, to state the obvious, if the queen leaves, the forum fails. Game over...

Mariana...

By your own reasoning, your posting of this thread was in violation of the forum rules.

Please remember that it was Heidi who has deleted dozens of threads relating to Moderator decisions and she always quoted "Moderator decisions are not discussed on the open forum." So, even she would have to agree that these discussions should be deleted.

I assume, therefore, that the deletion of your own post will be forthcoming?

In that case, why post anything at all if you know it will simply fan the flames of a growing fire of discontent?
