Hi Scorpiany,
This question has been asked a several times over. You can do a basic search in the forum or go to the "learn" tab and select "Spanish Grammar."

Lesson 3.6 was fun and is focused on this very question. You don't have to do the lessons in order, so just jump to here now.
Use "para" for PRODDS (purpose, recipeint, opinion, destination, deadline, standard)
Use "por" for DREEM (duration, reason, emotion, exchange, mode of communication or travel)
