Have you tried a dictionary yet? Common translations for "intend" are "pensar" and "querer", but keep in mind that "intend" has at least 5 different meanings. According to the dictionary, one of them is "to have in mind as something to be done or brought about", which explains why "pensar" (to think, to have in mind) is a possible translation, and also "querer", since it is something you want done. It also means "to design or destine", so "destinar" and "dirigir" are also possible translations.

I think there are many ways to say it; as usual, Spanish requires more precise word choice than English. Sometimes it can be said with . . .

Pretender: Quiero que me diga ¿cómo pretende hacer eso, señor? I want you to tell me how do you intend to do that?

Planear: Los pacientes que planean perder mucho peso deberían posponer sus cirugías. Patients who intend to lose a lot of weight should postpone the surgery.

Tratar de: Trataré de enfocarme más en las soluciones que hemos dado a nuestros problemas. I intend to focus more on the solutions we are giving to our problems.

A combination of 'pensar and hacer' might work wink

¿Qué piensas hacer al respecto?

What do you intend to do about it?
