You can "do" a download, or "make" a download... now write that in Spanish. - pesta, Feb 7, 2012

Cargar = load. Descargar = Download

There's no such thing as "un download"

Good answer with no context rabbit. - DJ_Huero, Feb 7, 2012
Thinking about it... probably a more universally understood way of phrasing the English would be... "upload" & "download". You got my vote though. =] - DJ_Huero, Feb 7, 2012
I don't know Huero, when I'm waiting for a youtube video it says "cargando" I am not uploading anything to the internet at this point. Upload has a very specific meaning, you have to be putting something on the internet yourself - rabbitwho, Feb 7, 2012

Actually it's your computer's software that is reporting that it's "cargando" (well, really accurately, your computer's software is simply relaying the message given it). However, your point stands, "descargando" would be more correct.
