The question should be. "¿Qué tanto sueño tienes?"

You are right xocoyote, thanks! There should be a "tilde" on the e from "Qué". Again, every word has an accent, but not all have a tilde. - farallon7, Feb 7, 2012

Doesn't this mean, "How much sleep do you have?" In other words, how much sleep are you going on? (continuing to function)

I don't understand this "you cannot translate word by word". I have been reading in Spanish and many sentences are word for word what is written in English. Please clarify how you know when you can and can't. Thanks. - kdrinning, Feb 6, 2012
There are some instances where you can do this, but not always. Sorry I forgot to add the "not always" There are a lot of examples in English were a sentence would make absolutely no sense, unless you were born here. - farallon7, Feb 7, 2012
