How would you translate "Hit the space bar"?

Well, space bar translates to

barra espaciadora.

So it might be

Oprime la barra espaciadora.

Oprimir is the common verb for push the button of a telephone, I don't know about the space bar, that was a guess on my part.

More in line with "hit" I see pega (pegar) sometimes used with hitting keys (teclados).
