vivo _______ salamanca??????

It is a city in Spain.
Salamanca is a region in Spain. La Universidad de Salamanca is a famous, highly esteemed university of Spain.
If it had a capital letter I could guess it meant the name of a place, city or country (assuming my geography is THAT poor).
"Vivo en Salamanca" would then be my only choice.
But without a capital letter it could mean really anything under the sun.
"Vivo con salamanca" is possible, I could live with anything.
Isn't it written with a capital letter at the beginning?
it could mean cave, dark place, or witchcraft
