It must be a diminutive and a slang to say Sonso (male) or Sonsa (female).... Let's go step by step:

1 - Sonso or Zonzo mean silly or stupid.

2 - As a diminutive sonsito or Zonzito, they are a way to express politely and sometimes with tender the definitions above.

-- No seas tontita, no le creas - Don't be silly, don't believe in him. (It's better to say tontita instead of tonta which is rude)

3 - As love make you act as a dumb and sometimes stupid, the words sonso or tonto (another one) are usually used.

4 - Sonsis is a slang to say sonsita, you would hear Tontis (Tontita), as well. I think Mexicans use them.

5 - Finally, to understand you sentence, maybe you are not sure about his/her love and he/she is telling you:

(Si), te amo sonsis --- (Yes) I do love you, don't be silly.

((I'm an English learner so I hope you can understand, at least the gist. Good Luck and welcome to the forum smile ))

Perhaps, "Of course, I love you, Silly." In this case Silly is used as a name and is usually said between either between a couple or parent to child in response to something they said that was silly. - webdunce, Feb 5, 2012
Nelson, this was helpful, and your English is very understandable. 2. They are ways...tenderness... 3. As love makeS... 4. Sonsis is slang.... 5. understand youR - katydew, Feb 5, 2012
Yes, your English was fine. I didn't even notice the mistakes katydew pointed out. - webdunce, Feb 6, 2012
