casar & cazar
Hola
I have listened to both pronunciations and for me they both sound similar. Am I right about that? And is there any way to recognize them through ordinary conversation?
Muchas gracias y saludos

In Latin America they will be pronounced the same.
In Spain the "z" sounds like a "th", so "cazar": will sound like "cathar".
In Latin America the way to tell them apart is through context. In fact, there are many jokes about girls "cazando" vs. "casando" when it comes to men!
