Complaints Café!!!
Hi all!!
When we had a lovely old site there was a thread called the international cafe, and it really helped the site as it was a magnificent thread, so because of this l decided to open a thread for the complaints about this new version that l absolutely hate!!!! and since l'm burning and l'm soooo angry!! l can't really be positive and post a lovely thread saying thanks for the horrible changes!! even if there were positive changes, there are indeed more negative changes!!
So since yelling and being angry about it isn't really helping! l'm posting this for a feed back, only post problems that you're having on this new version of the site!! do not post additional stuff that could be added but rather, the things that aren't working like they are supposed to do!!!
OK here are the problems l've faced so far!!
1- Where are my lovely fancy boxes with all the backgrounds?!!! This causes: 1- the word of the day thread wouldn't even be there because all the stuff written there is in the same boxes!!!! 2- also, l cannot decorate anything anymore and l'm angry about it!
2- No roll back function so l just lost my thread!! l worked for soo long to get this thread done and when l edited it all the graphics were gone, tried to roll back and there isn't even a button for that!!!!!
3- Edit a question and it jumps in the first page no matter how old is it!!
4- l try to edit a thread or write an answer with a link on it and this is how it looks:

"Latest activity"
on the right side :(
I wish to know what's going on on the site at this moment!
It feels like we have made a repair in the house, but we miss the old condition.
There's plenty of blue-on-white text I can't read, and green-on-white also, which I can't read.
The badge announcement banner on your profile has some blue-on-green which is completely unreadable.
The editor filters out html markup elements on "a" tags, "p" tags, and even "span" tags, so any color or size markings are lost when you "Save".
The "How do I format my post" link shows this in the instructions:
Please use Markdown to format your text.
This is a way of saying "Don't you dare format your text in any way that isn't using asterisks * for italics or bold, or the > sign for block text. We control everything because you can't be trusted."
Okay, so old posts still show the formatting that was applied before the site update. But.... If you go back and edit any old post even to correct one spelling mistake, upon saving it, your message will be cleaned out of all these "illegal" styling features, and ruined beyond repair.
Many reference threads showing how to format your posts are now instantly obsolete. How sad. 
(I would use a "sad" emoticon here, but I don't remember the code for it, and of course there's no emoticon bar now...)
Good news l've just edited my question and l tried accepting an answer but my thread didn't jump to the first page!

Thanks for the question. When we looked at the stats for the site, it was seldom used -- so there is no current plan to bring it back. But we are considering other sidebar widgets that may be even more interesting.

I believe Billygoat and others have mentioned this, but I think it bears repeating. I really miss the old reference section. Many members spent hours upon hours adding content there. There was such a wealth of information. I believe Paralee and others added other great sources of information like links to numerous newspapers from the many Spanish speaking countries. I used that often.
Then there are other reference articles which were amazingly helpful. I can't remember how many times I sent people (usually newbies to the site) to Heidi's "love thread" where the many ways to say "I love you." were listed along with related threads.
Hopefully, that part of the forum has not disappeared forever. There was such a wealth of valuable information there. It was also a labor of love from the many members of this site. 
I miss my simple colored text.
The new grammar section kind of bothers me... I don't mind if its re-organized and the new practice quizzes are a nice edition but I can't find all the grammar articles anymore (like what happened to Lazarus's explanation of ser and estar??) and it's a bit annoying to me to not have one comprehensive article on things like the preterite and present tense. I know that seems kind of trivial but i really valued those articles. :( Well I guess that's all I will say for now, my eyes are watering from the new color scheme.
The double click translation feature isn't working correctly. As Ian pointed out to me earlier clicking "yes" gives you the translation "and". That's worse than it not working at all, in my opinion.
sigh
I really try to look on the bright side of things... but I'm having a hard time of it right now. I can only hope that the issues get sorted out before we lose some of our most valued members.
Has anyone noticed that the top of the screen says:
Traducir > Conjugar > Q & A > Recursos > Más
"Q", I guess, stands for preguntas. "A" is for respuestas.
