Do you mean that you need to know how to conjugate the verbs correctly? To do so you would have to tell us the tense of the verbs as both the present tense (indicative mood) and the past tense make sense here.
Es una noche...y todo está... present tense
Era una noche....y todo estuvo/estaba.... past tense (depending on whether you are "painting the background setting" or just stating a location.
