I'm getting a bit more practice with the preterite, comparisons, new verbs, new types of sentences, etc. in Spanish. I feel like I've gotten the preterite down pretty good, so after this I'll try moving on to another verb tense.

El hombre fue víctima de un fuego. The man was a victim of a fire.

Teniendo hombre, las mujeres van a almorzar en ese restaurante. Being hungry, the women are going to eat lunch in that restaurant. I've seen the gerund used like this while reading. I hope I'm doing it right!

This one is interesting because the women appear to be canibals, getting ready to feast upon man. I think you meant hambre.

Thomas dio de comer a su perrito, porque tiene hombre. Thomas fed his puppy, because he was hungry.

This has the same spelling mistake as the one above. Hungry ... tener hambre. Also, "Thomas" in Spanish is Tomás. And past tense of dar in 3rd person singular is dió.

The rest look good!

Haha! I memorized "hambre" phonetically, as you may tell. Also, the dictionary states that the third person preterite is irregular, "dio." Does this spelling vary from place to place? - arocoun, Feb 2, 2012
My mistake. The "o" has a stronger emphasis than the "i" naturally, so the tilde is not necessary - 005faa61, Feb 2, 2012
Oh yes, and thanks. Because of you, I'll speak of cannibalism less often. :P - arocoun, Feb 3, 2012
Let's see. They removed the accent from sólo to solo, but I think that más (more) still uses the accent mark to distinguish it from mas (but) - 0074b507, Feb 3, 2012
Huh, I know más needs an accent. So why didn't I use one? I'll just have to be more careful. - arocoun, Feb 3, 2012

Alguna sugerencia más wink (tus frases están muy bien, enhorabuena)

Paseamos al parque. We go for a walk at the park.

Yo diría: "Paseamos por el parque".

¿Cómo se ducha uno cuando se acampa en el bosque? How does one shower when one camps in the woods?
