Ninguno, -a is an adjective that modifies a noun.

No is an adverb that modifies a verb, an adjective or another adverb. It describes how little.

en ningún momento - never (in no moment, modifies the noun momento)

No me gusta. Describes how little it pleased you (not at all).

Ninguno can also be used to say "neither" or "none" when giving a response that requires a choice.

A: Cual coche prefieres? (Which car do you prefer?)

B: Ninguno OR Ninguno de los dos. (None OR Neither of the two.)
