Could somebody explain which tense to use please, then I can work it out, or would it simply be habia un avisio?

I am a bit confused with trying to state the word ****there.....****

Thank you

Había=there was (impersonal Haber) - 0074b507, Jan 31, 2012
Había is in the imperfect tense. Tip-off is a once-and-completed event, so preterite "Hubo" is better. - pesta, Jan 31, 2012
