This is a text in which Mrs Mercedes went to the market with her daughter to buy things.... and this what happened.....

Is ( entonces ) place is right or wrong?... I really don´t know. shock

We use then (adverb) in the same manner in English.

They also wanted to buy flour, but the clerk said that they didn't have flour in the store now. Mercedes said, then, that they wanted bread and butter.

You could replace the then with other words like therefore, so, etc.

Note: Spanish accent marks are acute. áéíóú; not àèìòù (I added the one to Querían)
