They like Mareila because she is nice, sure, and gracious.
Los empleados comían cuando ellos preguntaron a Mariela sobre su vida. The employees ate when they questioned her about her life.

For the first sentence, the meaning of graciosa is more common as funny.
For the second sentence, if you want to say they ate, you should use comieron. The way you have it now is saying they were eating.
The rest is fine
