Hello Defy: please note that this place is for learning Spanish and English. It is not a homework-answering service. You can easily find that information in Wikipedia and other online sources. Thank you. - Gekkosan, Jan 29, 2012

The Netherlands. Also called Holland, which is in fact the name of two well-known provinces, North and South Holland. The country is often associated with tulips, clogs or wooden shoes, and windmills that are used to keep the water out - which is essential for a country the half of which is in fact below sea level. Also known for a watery liquid which they call 'Heineken'.The official language is Dutch. In the 16th century they got into trouble with Spain, and they still proudly remember one of their pirates who robbed the Spanish silver fleet. A clear case of robbers robbed if you ask me. wink

AKA "the low countries". (As far as I know that was not meant to be pejorative). - samdie, Jan 30, 2012
I think "low countries" refers to the elevation (or lack thereof) of the land. Fascinatingly I think I read somewhere that the people of the Netherlands have the higherst average height of any nation. - Stadt, Jan 30, 2012

En español, creo que es "Holanda" (Holland) or "los Países Bajos" (Netherlands) .
