I must be doing something right or Surely, I'm going in the right direction

My only guess: (Seguro que) camino en la dirección correcta.

Based on this (from the dictionary):

a step in the right direction (sentido figurado) -> un paso hacia el buen camino or en la dirección correcta

I think the expression you might be looking for is: "Ir/estar/andar por buen camino - to be on the right track"
