What does "Rancho Los Coyote" mean?
It was a historically the name of a land grant but I was thinking of using it as a name for my ranch.

How is should be spelled Rancho Los Coyotes, because the Los means that Coyotes is plural in this case. Then it would mean literally just what is says in español: The Coyotes Ranch. However, it probably was not named for coyotes, but was used as just a name; just as the last name Smith originally meant blacksmith, but now is just a last name. Rancho Los Coyotes was an historic 1834 land grant whose 50,000 acres covers much of what are now the Counties of Los Angeles and Orange, in Southern California. It was later subdivided into smaller ranchos.
