Would it be 'una barbona'?
I know the dictionary says 'un barbón' is a man with a thick beard...

barba larga
barba completa might be a "full" beard in English
Distintos tipos de barbas: 1) Incipiente 2) Bigote 3) Barba de chivo o de mandarín 4) Española 5) Patillas largas 6) Patillas unidas por el bigote 7) Estilo Van Dyke 8) Barba completa.

Una barba grande works for me. Or, you say Una gran barba (a great beard).
