It's not as bad as I remember..... just saying
No es tan malo como recuerdo
No es tan malo como me acuerdo.
I see
No es tan malo como dicen.
And
No es tan malo como parece.
And I know the construction works but not a single hit for
No es tan malo como recuerdo
or
No es tan malo como me acuerdo.
Is the construction different, do you have to say something a bit different?
Maybe, no es tan malo como recordaba , como me acordaba.
Or is the construction just totally different? I don't know for sure.

Yo diría: "No es tan malo como recordaba" o "No es tan malo como lo recordaba".
