Resentirse de - to be suffering from

Never heard this before today. Is it common in Mexico?

Seems like one of those regional speech patterns that divert from the standard. It is not a construction that I have heard of that I'd ever use.

Resentirse de means to suffer an aftereffect after an intial injury and illness. I used this word to describe my mom's ankle pain since it was an after effect her original injury. In medical terms term I might he/she is suffering late effects of.... I could also mean she getting weakned by her alzheimers which seems to be the case here

Yes; however, "resentirse de falta de memoria" does not make any sense to me. "To be debilitated of lack of memory" would be one literal translation. Makes no sense in English or Spanish. - Gekkosan, Jan 22, 2012

It's weird but it's used that way by some people: to suffer again of something. (a broken bone, or an old disease).
