To walk/run into the sea

To walk/run into the sea

Hmmm can someone please help me to translate 'I ran into the sea.' - I had a go and put 'Corrí hacia el mar.' but couldn't that just as easily be 'I ran towards the sea'?

Just wondering if there's a better, clearer translation? Do you need to use two verbs?

Corrí y entré en el mar? hmmmm - all help greatly appreciated wink

Okay last night I went to bed thinking about this one. I do not know if any of these work by howabout meterse or echarse. And then there is poner.

Corrí y me metí en el agua.

Corrí y me eché en el agua.

Corrí y me puse en el agua.

topar con el agua. This is from the dictionary. It is a new word to me.

to run imto (collide with)? maybe not?

To fall into the water is caer el agua. so why not just correr el agua?

no I don't think so that's a different kind of run into which can be translated with darse con, chocar con and topar con but I don't think that works with running into the sea :( - Kiwi-Girl, Jan 21, 2012
- thanx for trying though Gringo - Kiwi-Girl, Jan 21, 2012
I want to see the answer to this one. - gringojrf, Jan 21, 2012
would it be 'al'? caer al agua? plus if you said correr al agua how would you tell the difference between running up to and running into? I'm just being difficult I know je je - Kiwi-Girl, Jan 21, 2012
That why this is such a good question. Up to, into, along... - gringojrf, Jan 21, 2012
I'm also very interested in the answers, I didn't realize it was this difficult. - annierats, Jan 22, 2012
