estar orgulloso y ser orgulloso

I learned that estar ogulloso means to be proud in a positive sense, but that ser orgulloso means to be arrogant "altivo o soberbio".
So would any native speaker ever say: "Es importante estar orgulloso de su vida pero nunca ser orgulloso."?
I'm only here for a while so will check in again tomorrow (about 18 hours from now).
