I am trying to say "I have installed home security systems before" but I cannot seem to get a clear translation. Anyone know how to say this phrase properly? It could possibly be that home security tips would be useful here.

Well you could say "He instalado sistemas de seguridad en varias casas." This certainly expresses the idea but is a loose translation. If you think that "home security systems" is a magical formula and requires some sort of more technical/jazzy term, I can't help you.
