Talking of Fernando Botero's work.

Se da mala espina? I know me da mala espina works but I wonder if "Se da mala espina" works for, it tends to make one uncomfortable / uneasy?

Edit: using mala espina, not a different phrase. Thanks.

I hadn't thought of using that phrase like that - I always imagine it with someone suspicious giving you the creeps but I guess it must work just as well for things - Kiwi-Girl, Jan 18, 2012
"De nomas verlo me da mala espina" - perfect Spanish, Jeezzle! - mountaingirl123, Jan 18, 2012

I get what you're saying with the 'one' which is usually 'se' but with this particular phrase you'd need the indirect object pronoun wouldn't you so it'd be 'le' not 'se'.

Le da mala espina.

I went with De nomas verlo me da mala espina and just stuck with me. I've actually never heard the "ma da mala espina" / "Me da cosa" phrases outside of the "me da" fashion so I'll just stick to it.

Although a definitive answer would be nice to put us all at ease.

Also depending on what you want to say; it gives or gave me ...... you could use 'dio' - me 'dio' mala espina - Kiwi-Girl, Jan 18, 2012
Gives. - jeezzle, Jan 18, 2012

Using "One" makes me think of the impersonal like in "se vende". So I think se da mala espina would be correct.
