Lesson 1.8: What Time Is It?

Question

In lesson 1.8 there's a clock that I'm pretty sure reads 8:50, but the Spanish phrase given for it is nueve y cincuenta. I'm only asking about this because I want to make sure I'm understanding the whole time concept properly. Should this actually be ocho y cincuenta? Or am I missing something about telling time in Spanish? (Or have I forgotten how to actually tell time? :D Boy, that would be embarrassing...) Thanks for your help, everybody! ~FJ
