Root Beer Float?

Question

As the title says I'm a little bit confused on how to say root beer float? I put flotador de cerveza de raíz on my paper but she said it was incorrect. Any help would be great

I think "flotador" refers to a "float" such as something you get on in a pool, or use for fishing, not a drink. Here are two answers I found on the web that might be helpful- I do not know if anyone who might live near the US- México border might actually know a real term:

This is a tough one because we don't have Root Beer in Spain or combine these two ingredients, so nobody would understand it. It is a matter of culture and language. When a friend got me one once in Texas I was puzzled. So my guess is that you will have to explain what it is when you mention it. The literal translations would sound horrible and confuse people for sure as BEER= cerveza, as the lager you drink in a club (this is what a Spaniard would imagine!). Suggestion? " Mezcla de cierto refresco de cola con una bola de helado de vainilla flotando" (Mixture of a certain cola drink topped with a ball of vanilla ice-cream)

Es un vaso de "root beer" (gaseosa típica nortemericana) con una bola de helado de vainilla "flotando" en él. No creo que sea precisamente mezclado.

Es un vaso de cerveza de raíces con una bola de mantecado de vainilla flotando dentro. Se convierte en un tipo de malteada cremosa según se va derritiendo el mantecado.
