Libro de Reposiciones de partidas de nacimiento que esta oficina llevó en 1963
What does the following mean?
"Libro de Reposiciones de partidas de nacimiento que esta oficina llevó en 1963"
I'm translating a document where a birth certificate is being "replaced" with the correct name because it was registered with the wrong name originally.
Thanks!

I did a websearch on "libro de reposiciones", since this is a term I am not familiar with. The site wordreference.com has a thread asking for a translation; two options are provided: 1. late birth registration 2. Special Registry of Birth Certificate. (The question dealt with Nicaraguan Spanish).
The rest of your sentence would be translated as "birth certificates that this office handled in 1963".
I am hoping that this helps.
I agree with mountaingirl. But here's another way to look at this.
"Reposiciones" is a noun meaning replacements. So "libro de reposiciones" is a book for replacing birth certificates that have been modified/changed (and is probably used for late registrations).
