tinto y rojo?

Hola,

I understand that both words mean red - masculine, and so roja means red - feminine. But whan I looked for tinta I got the meaning of Ink. can anybody explain what I miss here?

Efectivamente, tinta es "ink": "La tinta se derramó por el escritorio", "La impresora no tiene tinta"

Es muy difícil ver "tinta" con el significado "rojo".

"tinto" casi siempre se utiliza acompañando a "rojo" para decir que es un color "rojo oscuro": "Las cortinas son de color rojo tinto" (aunque es más frecuente "color vino tinto"), pero sobre todo se usa para hablar del "vino tinto".

Hmm... All I know is that tinto, -a as an adjective means red, but that is most important use (for me anyway) is as a masculine noun. Tinto refers to una copa de vino de color roja. La tinta means ink, as you noted.

Rojo, -a is an adjective meaning red. Like in English (I just looked this up) it can also refer, as a noun, to a Communist (horrors), or, in the case of the Spanish Civil War, a Republican.
