Orar, rezar and rogar all mean to pray

Practical use/application::

The differences between rezar, rogar and orar is that rogar and rezar are used to mean to pray in the sense of reciting prayers e.g: the rosary whereas orar is used by native (i.e.SpanishSpeaking) Christians in the evangelical churches in South America to pray in the sense of spontaneous prayers from the heart that are not part of a fixed liturgy. I know this through our previous Youth pastor who comes from Brazil and is now working as a Missionary in Spain.

I hope this helps grin

ORAR - REZAR - ROGAR

ORAR

It means to pray to God and the saints or to speak in public.

REZAR

It means to pray to God and the saints, only this.

ROGAR

to ask something to God or someone with pleas to ask something with humility
