She could not be broken

She died rather than be broken

I wonder what is used for broken?

surely not romper?

¿No podía estar rota? that can't be right.

Is one of those phrases where you have to use the MMMM**** I don't know the term. smile

But watch.

She could not be broken.

No se le podía romper/quebrar.

No se podía romper/quebrar.

Maybe you are talking about a boat/ship?

Maybe you are talking about feelings/sentiments?

etc.

Yes?

They could not "turn" her - they could not "get her to give up" - jeezzle, Jan 14, 2012
No, not turn...give her up either... - chileno, Jan 15, 2012
turn as in darla vuelta uh! but that's not English, it's Spanglish! :) - chileno, Jan 15, 2012

No pudieron con ella.

No fueron capaces de doblegarla.

We would not use romper here.

we really mean "her mind could not be broken" or "her resolve could not be broken"

Jeezle, just let us know right from the start what you really mean, jeje, that would help a lotwink

Who or what is She. A woman, a boat, a horse, a dog? It might make a difference in the verb to use. Is this a test? Because I can be broken. Easily!

That might be it, but you know we really mean "her mind could not be broken" or "her resolve could not be broken" so I don't know. - jeezzle, Jan 14, 2012
