volver y girar

Me pregunto si puedo usar el verbo volver en lugar del verbo girar.

Girar = to turn, to spin, to be centered around something

Volver = to turn around, to turn inside out, to do something again

On the surface they are very similar. But volver is more a verb of action used with people. Yo volví. I returned. While girar is used more for inanimate objects. El calle va a girar pronto. The street is going to turn soon.

I don't think you would be misunderstood if you used them interchangeably but there are definitely customary uses for each (that may vary from place to place). For example, volver is used a lot and girar very little.
