"Fish out of water" translation
How would say " fish out of water" ?
This phrase means that a person isn't there correct place. For example the nerd was sitting at table for jocks. The nerd is a fish out of water.

In this case, I would say that the literal translation:
Como (un) pez fuera del agua
works perfectly.

According to the SD dictionary it's literally: No se sentía en su elemento.
But Ian-Hill added this more colorful phrase to the Phrasebook: Como sapo de otro pozo.... like a toad from another well
