Acechar, perseguir It is not used in the same way it is used in English. If some one is stalking you, you would say. Ese hombre, or esa mujer me está persiguiendo or me está siguiendo.

  • The word acosador translates exactly stalker, but it is not used in the same way. The word acosador is mostly used for adults that are child molesters or for sexual harassment. Like "Acosador de menores, or acosador sexual. Also, if someone is bugging you, is on your face all the time, and crowding you, you would say, "¡deja de acosarme! or ¡me estás acosando! You are crowding me!, You are so close to me, I can't even breath!

So, you can't say, "Look, here comes my stalker"? You'd have to say, "Look here comes the person that's been watching me"? Vaya... - Goldie_Miel, Jan 11, 2012
Hey, could you use "acechador"? - Goldie_Miel, Jan 11, 2012
This was interesting and informative- I didn't realize that you could not use it in the same way as in English. Thank you for the information :) - riverphoenix1970, Jan 11, 2012
