Hi:
It's a financial term. It means "turned into computer data"; un título (financiero) desmaterializado is "book entry security".
But the paper document might be the only really legal, so beware! My solurce was: http://iate.europa.eu/ InterActive Terminology for Europe. It's an online dictionary use by ONU workers.
