There is a dog on the corner on the street.-

There is a computer in the corner of my bedroom.-

I am not sure if I use "on the corner" if the corner is outward and "in the corner" if it is inward.

Yes, you are exactly right in your use of English - "on" the street (outside) corner and "in" the interior corner! :) - ajaks, Jan 10, 2012
Sorry, Nila. I didn't understand your question until I read your profile. Fluent in Spanish! My mistake. - ajaks, Jan 10, 2012

According to the dictionary, there are two distinct words for corner - "la esquina" for an outside corner and "el rincón" for an inside corner. En means both "in" and "on," depending on context.

Hay un perro en la esquina de la calle. Hay una computadora en el rincón de mi dormitorio.
