¿A quién admira Ud. Más? ¿Por qué? I admire my parents the most because they mean everything to me in this world.

Admiro los padres más porque quiere decir que todo lo que me ha dirigido en este mundo.

I wonder if, "Admiro a mis padres porque a mí son todo el mundo." would work? Does this mean roughly the same thing, anyone else?

Whereas we say "to me (or other object)" in English, it's "para mí (or other object)" in Spanish to express opinions in the same fashion. Anyway, I can't think of any reason why your change is wrong (besides the aforementioned preposition), it does sound - freeze10108, Jan 10, 2012
a little bit odd to my ears (but I'm not a native). Something like "me son el mundo," or, preferably (for me), "me significan el mundo" sound better to me. But, then again, it sounds good with para but minus the "todo" bit. - freeze10108, Jan 10, 2012
