Hoy toqué huegos con mis niños? Is there supposed to be a pronoun present for direct/indirect?

Thanks Everyone! I understand it better now.

Hoy jugué juegos con mis niños. Today I played games with my kids.

"tocar" is (generally) to "play" a (musical) insturment, not to play games/cards/the horses/ etc - samdie, Jan 8, 2012

Are you trying to say, "I played games with my children today"?

That would be, "Hoy jugué juegos con mis niños."

No, the prepostional phrase [con mis niños] is not seen as an indirect object and even if it were, the i.o.p. would be optional in that sentence.

The only way that a "redundant" d.o.p. would be needed, would be if the d.o. juegos preceded the verb.

Well, unless you actually meant, "I touched some games with my children"...

It's a good idea to put your English translation in with your Spanish. Good post, Katydid!
