¡Hola Everyone! Paralee is telling me it's La Sala and when I use my flashcards, It tells me its El Salón. No estoy seguro. I think it may be feminine but Paralee didn't acknowledged it.

Sala is indeed feminine -- la sala.

Salón, which is a salon or a sitting room, is masculine -- el salón.

"Gracias" is also feminine. Therefore, you should write "Muchas gracias". - Naomi_Callas, Jan 7, 2012
I'm a guy. Guys say Muchas Gracias? or is it Muchos Gracias? - tamiranleak, Jan 14, 2012
Tamiran, it would be **Muchas**, no matter what **your gender** is. "Muchas" is modifying "gracias", which is feminine. - SonrisaDelSol, Jan 14, 2012

Hi tamiranleak, and welcome to the SpanishDict forum!

Questions related to a noun's gender can easily be addressed by checking with the dictionary above. For example, under the entry for the word sala, we find the following:

sala

feminine noun

1). room (habitación) ; lounge, living room (de una casa) ; ward (de hospital)

It might also be helpful to realize that sala and salón are two distinct words, so any question of gender should be handled separately.
