Context would help. Traer can also mean to wear. Coleto can mean a jerkin or doublet. One way to read this is The servants also wore suede jerkins.

Bellator: I think you were near the mark in this instance, here is my version

I saw how the servants prepared the lords ( nobleman's ) clothing. I watched as they also brought him his fencing doublet and some loaded pistols of various types.

He was off for a duel, I think!

I was put on the wrong track when I thought they were "bringing" pistolas, hence bringing un coleto; I'll get the hang of it yet. I love this language so much!
