Prepostion help. (I think)

I was translating this newspaper article and had trouble with a couple of things

-Two further arrests have been made over the deaths of two teenage girls in a crash at Tauranga’s Welcome Bay on Christmas Day.

Or do we say por el día de navidad?

Also trouble with; …at Tauranga’s Welcome Bay

….on Spain’s Costa del Sol

in and at are prepositions right? So do you use en or por for these example. Come to think of it is ‘at’ even correct for the English?

My head is spinning, I think I need a cup of tea and a lie down.

Hi Teasip, You are off to a good start. Allow my head to spin for a moment. I would try this:

'Fueron detenidas' is a passive construction used often in newspaper articles, not so much in everyday speech. The pp has to agree with the subject.

I think you can use 'por' in this way, although more formally you could say 'por causa de'.

You will probably get a better answer, but I wanted to try my hand.

Very nice advice, Jeremias. One small correction in orthography: Dos mas → Dos más - Izanoni1, Jan 2, 2012

Hi teasip, here are a couple of suggestions:

A more literal translation might be:

You could probably also say something like
