Many sad things have happened to me in my life time. I have lost friends and loved ones. I have also had to face a lot of physical pain and problems due to a bad car accident ten years ago.
It is never easy to deal with painful situations. I personally turn to my faith. I have one Bible verse that I really love which is Jeremiah 32:27 (Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything too difficult for me?). That verse brings me comfort and lets me know that no matter how painful the situation, God can always provide a way for me to deal with it. There have been many painful situations which actually turned about to be very good things in the long run. About ten years ago (actually not long after my car accident) we were betrayed by people that we really thought were our friends. The fall out was horrible. But because of this, the whole course of our lives changed. We met some new and amazing people because of this....true friends. In fact, I am now happy that I went through that pain because I can't imagine my life being any different than it is today! ![]()
Another thing that helps is to realize that there is always someone in the world who is suffering so much more than you are. I remember one day I was feeling sorry for myself because I was in a lot of pain. That night, I saw a report about the devastation following the earthquake in Haiti. Just seeing all of those people, especially the little children suffering in pain without hospitals, medication, etc., I realized that I have it pretty good. I stopped feeling sorry for myself immediately.
I hope this was helpful in some way. ![]()
Losing a loved one can be devastating. My dad died when I was younger and it was a great loss for my whole family. But I believe it shaped me into who I am.
At first I could believe that the best man in my life was gone. And I still miss him, but I realized somethings. I realized that death is a natural part of life that no one can nor should stop. I overcame the situation because I know he wouldn't want me to cry, he would want me to be strong for my mom and to represent him with honor and courage. He would want me to celebrate life and enjoy all the beautiful things in the world. I think he would want me to remember him when I enjoy an unbelievably gorgeous sunrise, or when paint a picture, or when I whistle a happy tune.

When I am sad and want to cry I have learned to talk about it all to my saviour Yahusha (jesus) then I just turn that frown upside down and smile.
